水を入れると化学反応を起こして、電池として使えるようになる製品。水を入れるまでは通常の電池のように自然放電しないため、約20年の長期保存が可能。また、100本で重量1.5kg(通常の電池は2.3kg)と軽いため、備蓄に向いているとしている。

　使用時に注入する水は、清水のほか、ジュースやビールといった飲料水、人間の唾液なども使用できる。電力が弱くなった場合には、水を追加すれば数回繰り返して使えるという。

　材料には六価クロムや水銀、カドミウムなどを使用していないため、使用後は不燃物で処分できるとしている。
